TSH&D Attorneys Named to 2017 Massachusetts Super Lawyers and Rising Star Lists

Congratulations to Steven J. Torres, Kristen Schuler Scammon, Michael S. Day, and Brooks l. Glahn on being named to the 2017 Massachusetts Super Lawyers and Rising Star lists.

Michael S. Day, Partner, was named to the 2017 Massachusetts Super Lawyers list in the area of Business Litigation. Michael DayThis is the fourth consecutive year Michael has been named to the list.

Michael represents individuals and businesses in commercial litigation and criminal matters, from complex business disputes to defamation claims to employment counseling and litigation. He has more than a decade of experience representing clients in federal and state trial courts, before government tribunals and at various arbitrations and mediations across the country. Michael is also committed to helping survivors of domestic violence. He has been actively involved in assisting individuals and families with legal representation as well as volunteering on non-profit boards and professional committees.

Steven TorresSteven J. Torres, Partner, was named to the 2017 Massachusetts Super Lawyers list in the area of Business Litigation for the fourth consecutive year.

Steven represents companies and individuals in business disputes and litigation. He has more than fifteen years of experience representing clients through all phases of the litigation process, including jury trials, appellate practice, arbitrations, mediations and administrative proceedings. Much of his practice involves litigating complex commercial disputes that often include breaches of contract, shareholder rights, breaches of fiduciary duty, fraud, unfair business practices, insurance coverage issues, restrictive covenants in employment agreements, the Uniform Commercial Code, construction and products liability. Steven also serves as President of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) Society’s Boston Chapter.

Kristen Schuler Scammon, Partner, was named to the 2017 Massachusetts Super Lawyers list in the area of Criminal Kristen ScammonDefense: White Collar. This is the fifth year Kristen has been named to the list.

Kristen represents individuals and businesses in white collar litigation, including false claims, securities fraud, antitrust violations, campaign finance violations, public corruption, mail fraud and tax evasion. She also represents clients in business litigation matters, including breach of contract, consumer protection, Civil RICO and license disputes. Kristen practices in both federal and state trial courts in Massachusetts, the First Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as at mediations and arbitrations. She is a member of the Women’s White Collar Defense Association, and the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Kristen also serves on TargetCancer Foundation, Inc.’s Board of Directors.

Glahn Brooks

Brooks L. Glahn, Of Counsel, was named to the 2017 Massachusetts Super Lawyers list in area of Appellate Law. This is the fourth year Brooks has been named to the list.

Brooks has 15 years of experience handling complex legal issues in both trial and appellate courts. His practice focuses on appellate advocacy, complex motion practice, representing professionals before state licensing boards and health care matters. Brooks also has significant experience assisting clients in general civil litigation matters, including insurance coverage disputes, breach of contract claims, professional liability claims and product liability suits.

Super Lawyers selects attorneys using a patented multiphase selection process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with independent research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis.
